This is the results of yesterdays attempts at drawing & doodling. There are a couple of things that I’m not overly happy with; the fact that my white fine-liner had dried up so I couldn’t draw the white lines inside the ‘No’ how I wanted.
It’s good to be able to do things like this though as they help me to refine and practise my fine-liner/inking skills. I know that I should take the plunge and use a dip pen/brush and ink, but there is something comforting about the ‘good olde fine liner’
I’d like to put in more lettering in my work and try and get a better handle on words and how to include them in my work. A bit like I did here in this piece.
I know I have a long way to go to get the look I am after for my work – and a lot of technical skills to develop along the way, but taking the first steps along the art path feels good again.
I’m still cautious about diving headfirst into all this and taking things too swiftly in case I just fall flat on my face and burn out again.
